Training Classes and Seminars

Classes and seminars are conducted periodically during the school year by laboratory staff. We encourage new laboratory users to attend these classes before beginning any one-on-one training with either a superuser or lab staff.

Member Training Policy

It is the policy of NCNC that any qualified user of a tool can, and is encouraged to, instruct other users. Trainers are expected to be immediately proximate at all times to the trainee and to protect both the tool and the trainee from damage or injury.

Normal user rates apply and trainees are encouraged to compensate trainers in any way mutually agreed upon.

The authority to qualify a user to operate a tool independently rests with superuser on tools for which superusers have been defined.
