Safety and Emergency

Many of the materials used in microfabrication are hazardous to human tissue. For that reason, elaborate engineering controls have been put in place to prevent inadvertent contact. Nonetheless, special procedures must be observed in many cases. Please visit the following links for more detail.

MSDS

Hard copies of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are only available in the lab in the gowning area, 1224 Kemper Hall, and the lab office, 1125 Kemper Hall. An additional MSDS library is in the binder in 1246 Kemper Hall for chemicals unique to that room.

In addition, computers with Internet access and compatible browsers are found in all rooms with chemical inventory for on-line MSDS access.
